For active immunisation of cattle against BVDV-1 and BVDV-2, to prevent the birth of persistently infected calves caused by transplacental infection. Onset of immunity: 3 weeks after immunisation. Duration of immunity: 1 year. Dosage & Administration Primary vaccination: After reconstitution, administer one dose (2 ml) of the vaccine by intramuscular (IM) injection. It is recommended to vaccinate cattle at least 3 weeks before insemination/mating to provide foetal protection from the first day of conception. Animals which are vaccinated later than 3 weeks before gestation or during the early gestation may not be protected against foetal infection. This should be considered in case of herd vaccination. Recomended re-vaccination programme: Revaccination is recommended after 1 year. 12 months after primary vaccination most studied animals still had antibody titres at plateau while some animals had lower titres. When calves are fed colostrum from vaccinated cows during the first week of life, these antibodies have been demonstrated to reduce the severity of diarrhoea caused by bovine rotavirus, bovine coronavirus and enteropathogenic E. coli F5 (K99) and to reduce the shedding of virus by calves infected with bovine rotavirus or bovine coronavirus. Onset of immunity: Passive immunity commences with colostrum feeding and is dependent on calves receiving sufficient colostrum after birth. Dosage & Administration One dose: 3 ml intramuscular One dose in the course of each pregnancy, given in the 12 - 3 week period before calving is expected.

For active immunisation of cows and heifers from eight months of age onwards to protect the foetus against transplacental infection with Bovine Viral Diarrhoea virus. Dosage & Administration Before using the vaccine allow it to reach ambient temperature (15-25°C). Shake well before use. Use sterile syringes and needles, or Sterimatic products. Intramuscular injection. 2 ml per animal. All cattle can be vaccinated from an age of eight months onwards. Can be used during pregnancy. Foetal protection can be expected if the primary immunisation has been finalised 4 weeks before start of the gestation. Animals which are vaccinated less than 4 weeks before gestation or during the early gestation will not be protected against foetal infection. Individual vaccination Basic immunisation • Two vaccinations with an interval of 4 weeks. • The second vaccination should be given not later than 4 weeks before the start of the gestation. • Revaccination One vaccination 4 weeks before start of the next gestation.
