Formaldehyde is used as a powerful, industrial detergent. Used foto sterilize heat-sensitive objects, including blood-stained instruments, cystoscopes, and laparoscopes. In its gaseous form, it is also used in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Similarly, it is used as an environmental disinfectant, to clean extremely contaminated rooms. Rooms cleaned with Formaldehyde must be aired after treatment. Caution must be exercised when using formaldehyde.
For general purpose disinfection, dilute 1 part Formaldehyde in 4 parts water (1:4). Apply solution to surfaces at 400ml per square metre.
For fogging, you should apply neat. Spread at a rate of 10 Litre per 10,000 square feet of floor space, approximately 10,000 square feet. EXERCISE CAUTION. After fumigation, do not re-enter the room for at least 2-3 hours. Always be sure to check the atmospheric levels of formaldehyde. These should be well below the specified maximum exposure limit (MEL) before you re-enter. You should be in possession of a Formaldehyde Fumigant Neutraliser before use.
For use in footbaths, dilute at the rate of 5% v/v Formaldehyde in water. Use as required, always exercising caution.
Key reasons to use:
Disinfectant: use as an extremely powerful, industrial detergent
Fogging: use for fogging with care
